Two Arrested, Including Parolee at Large

April 11, 2026 – Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department officials report that on April 3, 2026, at approximately 2:22 p.m. (1422 hours), deputies assigned to the Community Resource Unit (CRU) were conducting surveillance in Empire, in an attempt to locate a parolee at large, Jimmy Gill, a 37-year-old male.

During the surveillance operation, deputies received additional support from the K9 unit and the unmanned aerial systems unit (UAS). While monitoring the residence, deputies observed Ricky Gill, a 39-year-old White male adult, exit the residence. Deputies immediately recognized Ricky Gill and were aware that he had active warrants for his arrest. Ricky entered the passenger seat of a vehicle, which was parked out front, and they departed the residence. A short distance away, a traffic stop was initiated, and the vehicle yielded. Upon stopping the vehicle, Ricky Gill fled on foot from the passenger side. The UAS deputy successfully tracked him from the air, observing him return to his residence in Empire.

Deputies surrounded the residence and made multiple PA announcements ordering Ricky to exit and surrender. After receiving no response, deputies entered the residence to conduct a search. An attic area requiring further inspection was identified. Using a drone and K9 Hondo, deputies searched the attic space. Ricky Gill was ultimately apprehended by K9 Hondo and taken into custody.
