Manteca police deny fault in death of man who died days after arrest

(FOX40.COM) — The Manteca Police Department said that the death of a 60-year-old man who passed away two days after being taken into custody was unrelated to police conduct.

Roy Francisco Craig was taken into custody April 10 after officers responded to a report of a man acting erratically in the 1600 block of North Main Street in Manteca, officials said Tuesday. The department released details in response to “rumors and inaccurate information circling” regarding Craig’s death.

“First and foremost, no taser was deployed on Mr. Craig, and no injurious force was used during the incident,” the department said…
