Man arrested after pursuit in Stockton, rifle discovered, deputies say

(FOX40.COM) — A 39-year-old man was arrested after allegedly leading deputies on a short pursuit and striking a patrol vehicle before attempting to flee on foot, according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said the incident began Thursday when deputies on graveyard patrol attempted to stop a Maserati in Stockton.

Authorities reported that the driver failed to yield, leading deputies on a brief pursuit before the vehicle was later spotted again near Rosemarie Lane.

Investigators said the driver entered an apartment complex, where he attempted to escape and intentionally rammed a patrol vehicle. Deputies then took the suspect into custody after he tried to flee on foot…
