MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – A master plan that outlines a transformative vision for the corridor encompassing Norman Bridge Road and Augusta Avenue has now unanimously passed the Montgomery City Council Planning Commission and is headed to the full City Council in Mid-June.
The proposed plan is a comprehensive response, heavily centered around community engagement. It focuses on three core pillars: strategic land reclamation, safety and connectivity, and integrated growth.
“We’re calling it the Greater Floyd Campus,” said Lois Cortell, senior development manager of the Department of Economics and Development. “It’s A long-range plan, and the city’s comprehensive plan had recommended this area for open space and recreation. So we built on that recommendation and tried to put it into a specific phased plan that we could then put into action with community buy-in.”…
