HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Good Monday morning. Today is a 48 First Alert Weather Day for the potential of strong to severe storms developing from late morning into the afternoon.
We start off the day under overcast skies with some areas of patchy and dense fog spread across the Tennessee Valley. Morning temperatures are warm in the upper 60s to lower 70s with a muggy feel as dew points hover in the upper 60s.
A complex of stronger thunderstorms will move in from the northwest as early as 10 AM and continue to drop to the southeast into the early afternoon. This complex or cluster of storms will be capable of producing damaging straight-line wind gusts, large hail, frequent lightning and torrential rainfall. The threat for stronger storms will begin as early as 10AM for Northwest Alabama and Middle Tennessee.
