Alabama law pushes summer camps to strengthen emergency plans

ALPINE, Ala. (WIAT) — As children spend their summer making memories at camps across Alabama, camp leaders are working to ensure those experiences remain safe.

A new state law, known as Sarah Marsh’s Heaven’s Twenty-Seven Camp Safety Act, is prompting camps to review and update their emergency procedures ahead of its implementation on Jan. 1, 2027.
