MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – A boat caught fire on the south side of Lake Martin near Anchor Bay Marina during Fourth of July celebrations Saturday, according to Elmore County Sheriff Bill Franklin.
Video shared with WSFA 12 News showed fireworks erupting over the water as flames engulfed the small boat.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said the boat was a makeshift vessel, or barge, that did not have a motor and was being anchored in place and used as a platform to launch fireworks.
