MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – A former school improvement specialist who spent the last three years working in Montgomery Public Schools says the community must step up in the wake of a 6-year-old girl’s death.
Dr. Victoria Washington said she was devastated to learn about the death of Caylee Turner, who was killed in a weekend drive-by shooting while she was asleep inside her home.
“It broke my heart, the baby in the house asleep. A drive-by is taking place, she’s at home — why do I have to worry about my child not waking up from sleep?” Washington said…
