MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) — The Patriot Tour wrapped its Mississippi stop Sunday, carrying one American flag on a 50-state journey in support of disabled veterans and their families facing financial hardship.
The cross-country trek brings veterans and the biking community together each year. The flag launches from a different state, travels for more than 120 days and is passed hand-to-hand by veteran flag bearers.
“We’re honored to do this because there’s a lot of veterans out there in our community and statewide, nationwide, that need assistance, and Nation of Patriots has come through for them,” said Kathy Collins-Lantz, regional commander for Alabama and Mississippi.
