Tuberville speaks at Alabama Sheriff’s Association as governor’s race heats up

OPELIKA, Ala. (WTVM) – U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville spoke Monday at the Alabama Sheriff’s Association annual summer conference in Opelika as he campaigns for the November governor’s race.

A Montgomery Circuit judge ruled last Thursday that Tuberville is eligible to run for governor after dismissing a residency lawsuit that claimed his primary residence is in Florida. Tuberville entered the race approximately a year and a half ago.

“I’m 110% qualified to run,” Tuberville said. “I wouldn’t give up the Senate seat to do this if I wasn’t.”
