Central Alabama VA gets 2026 funding for facility upgrades

The Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System received funding for Nonrecurring Maintenance projects in the third quarter of fiscal year 2026 after receiving additional funding earlier in the year.

The funding is part of a record $4.8 billion in nationwide Veterans Affairs spending to modernize, repair and improve health care facilities in fiscal year 2026 through the Veterans Health Administration’s Nonrecurring Maintenance program.

Projects funded for CAVHCS during the third quarter of fiscal year 2026 include:

  • Correcting mechanical, fixture and piping deficiencies in Buildings 2, 4 and 4A.
  • Modifying the site for a Symbia EVO imaging system in Room GB-133.
