MPS announces new after-school program at 5 Montgomery schools

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – Five schools in the Montgomery area will offer 21st Century Community Learning Centers for the new school year.

Montgomery Public Schools announced that all centers will provide students with engaging, high-quality after-school learning opportunities designed to extend learning beyond the traditional school day.

Schools participating in the program during the 2026–27 school year:

  • Flowers Elementary School (Monday through Friday)
  • Bellingrath Middle School (Monday through Thursday)
  • Capitol Heights Middle School (Monday through Thursday)
  • Goodwyn Middle School (Monday through Thursday)
  • McKee Middle School (Monday through Thursday)

Programming includes project-based learning, family engagement activities, service learning opportunities, academic enrichment, and activities that help students develop critical thinking, collaboration and leadership skills…
