BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Investigators with the 25th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, working with law enforcement agencies across north Alabama, executed 12 search warrants as part of an ongoing investigation into the sale and distribution of products containing kratom.
The warrants were served at locations across Marion, Winston, Fayette, Walker, Jefferson, St. Clair, Etowah, and Calhoun counties.
Investigators seized a total of 1,528 bottles and containers of kratom products, along with additional suspected kratom-related products and evidence. The items included commercially packaged liquid shots, capsules, powders, and other kratom products.
The operation involved multiple agencies, including the Hamilton Police Department, Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Winston County Sheriff’s Office, Double Springs Police Department, Lynn Police Department, Addison Police Department, Jasper Police Department, Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, Berry Police Department, Alabama Drug Task Force Region E, ALEA Narcotics, and the ABC Board…
