MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – The City of Montgomery will temporarily close a portion of Madison Avenue on Friday, to support the 25-Year 9/11 Anniversary Commemoration hosted by Montgomery Fire Rescue.
The ceremony honors the lives lost and the heroes who answered the call on September 11, 2001.
One block of Madison Avenue directly across from the Montgomery Fire Rescue headquarters, between Coosa St. and N. Perry St., will be closed from 6 a.m. to approximately 10:30 a.m.
The city said the closure is meant to ensure public safety and create a respectful environment for attendees. The roadway will reopen as soon as the event concludes…
