MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – The City of Montgomery is offering up to $15,000 per project for developers who tackle what’s known as “infill” housing.
“Housing is a big issue in Montgomery right now, and everyone’s always pointing toward the city to fix the issue. While it is easy to be able to say to do it, I think the biggest way to do it is using partnership with developers and contractors who are out actively on the ground fixing the community,” said the city’s Economic Development Coordinator Tamara Williams.
Infill developments are new homes built in existing neighborhoods designed to make use of vacant or underused property. It also extends to the renovations of existing buildings in those neighborhoods…
