The Alabama Independent School Association (AISA) has announced the end of its sports programs following the completion of the 2026-2027 school year. According to a media release, the Board’s decision follows more than a year of careful consideration and several months of discussion among member school leaders.
Fort Dale Academy will not be affected by the decision. According to Athletic Director Marshall Watts, the Eagles, in their first year of play in the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA), has no current plans to consider a shift.
The association said the decision follows several conversations about the future of independent school athletics in Alabama.
