A BRAND new flag has been flown for nearly 200,000 Americans after a group of teens petitioned to ditch references to the Confederacy.
The young people vowed, “It’s not about erasing history, it’s about growing from it,” as they organized for changes to the 1952 design.
Their efforts paid off on Thursday when Montgomery, Alabama held a ceremony to retire its old flag and raise the new one.
