Missing Montgomery high school student found dead, two teens charged

A missing Montgomery teenager has been found dead, and police have charged two teens with murder in his death.

Sidney Lanier High School student Michael Anthony Cole Jr., 16, went missing Thursday, and the community banded together to support a search in hopes of finding him safe. Officials pronounced him dead Monday, court documents stated.

Officers arrested Nicholas Treyvon King-Sheppard and Nedvin Maynard Jones Jr., both 18, and charged them with murder. Law enforcement said that the crime happened at 8:43 p.m. Jan. 25, the day he went missing.

Court documents indicate that the teens are accused of discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling.
