National Heart Month, ‘Wear Red Day’ urges women to take control of heart health

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – February is National Heart Month, and Friday is the American Heart Association’s Wear Red Day to raise awareness about heart disease in women. Heart disease and stroke cause 1 in 3 deaths among women each year. That’s more than all cancers combined, and 80 percent of cardiac and stroke events may be prevented with education and action.
