Alabama State University has announced the death of former President Dr. Joe Lee, who served from 2001-2008. In a statement, the university said, “It is with a very heavy heart that we announce the unfortunate passing of the 11th president of Alabama State University, Dr. Joe Lee, who transitioned yesterday afternoon. The University extends its deepest condolences to Dr. Lee’s family, friends, and all who he impacted.”
