MPD releases name of victim who died after car crash

The Montgomery Police Department continues to investigate a car crash after a Louisiana passenger died at the hospital, police said.

Ashley Grant, 32, died in a hospital after the crash. She was in a 2018 Dodge Durango. Grant is from Gonzales, Louisiana, MPD Capt. Raymond Carson said in an email.

At about 3:35 p.m. Thursday, officers and fire medics responded to the area of Interstate 65 South near Selma Highway where they found a single-vehicle car crash.

First responders took both the driver and passenger, who both had life-threatening injuries, to the hospital. Doctors pronounced the passenger dead.

Police are not releasing any more information at this time, Carson said.
