“Two victims were found, and treated with measures to save their lives,” later pronounced deceased.

Two lives were lost early this morning to a deadly house fire on Avondale Road off of Harrison Road, at 1 a.m., according to Montgomery Fire/Rescue. Montgomery Fire and Rescue arrived to find that a one story home was on fire with heavy smoke and flames blazing. Two victims were found, and treated with measures to save their lives, and transported the following hospitals, Baptist South Emergency, and Jackson Hospital Emergency. Both victims were pronounced deceased at the hospitals.

This will make the second fire this month that the Montgomery Fire/Rescue has had to respond to, but with a different outcome. They responded to a fire February 3, 2024, early Saturday at about 2 a.m., and evacuated three people from a burning house the Montgomery Fire/Rescue Department states.

Upon arrival, smoke and flames could be seen pouring from the building. It was soon declared a 2nd Alarm fire. Rescue crews knocked on the door and evacuated three people who were still inside the house. The fire was extinguished with no reports of any injuries.
