Three days of Pride are ahead this weekend in Montgomery, set in a time of year that shouldn’t have participants melting in Alabama’s heat.
Organized by Montgomery Pride United, these events celebrate ongoing LGBTQ+ efforts and hard-won legal rights, with an overall theme of “Together We Rise.”
The Montgomery Pride MET Gayla
- When: Friday, Oct. 18, 6:30 p.m.
- Where: Alabama Shakespeare Festival, 1 Festival Drive.
- Info: This is a first-time event, which mimics the Met Gala. Guests should come dressed in their “finest fashion forward garments using your favorite color(s) of the rainbow.”

The 2024 Montgomery Pride March and Rally
- When: Saturday, Oct. 19, 1:30 p.m.
- Where: Downtown Montgomery
- Info: Marchers will make their way to the State Capitol steps, where there will be speeches and drag performances. TC Caldwell, executive director of The Knights & Orchids Society, will be the keynote speaker.
