There were several top performers in Montgomery-area high school sports last week, but only one boy and one girl can be the Montgomery Advertiser’s High School Sports Athlete of the Week.
Last week , G.W. Carver’s TJ Russell won the boys poll with 55% of votes while Montgomery Academy’s Addi Vinson won the girls poll with 73% of votes.

Boys poll
- Opp’s Justice Baldwin completed 20 of 31 passes for a career-high 369 yards, completing two of those passes for touchdowns and keeping the ball to rush for two more on runs of 36 and one yard in a 46-7 win against Straughn.
- Lowndes Academy’s Jeremy Hardy Jr. rushed for 141 yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries in a 54-6 win against Valiant Cross.
- Montgomery Academy’s Price McLemore won the Montgomery Cross Country Invitational with a time of 17:07.69 to help lead the team to the championship in a field that included 20 teams and more than 300 runners.
- Saint James’ Chase Perry tied the single game school record with five touchdown passesĀ in a 42-24 win against Mumford.
- Montgomery Catholic’s Kingston Preyear completed 8 of 14 passes for 210 yards and two touchdowns in a 38-0 shutout against Andalusia.
