Rainy & Thundery Day Across Areas of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama
11/10/24 12:01pm EST
Good morning everyone. Clouds are on their way into the Northeast and New England and so is some much needed rain. While we won’t see a complete washout with 2-4″ of rain, a half inch up to an inch of rain is possible in spots. This will help lessen the fire risk across the region as we enter a more active pattern with a few more chances of rain over the next 7-10 days.
We also continue to watch heavy showers & thunderstorms slowly moving across parts of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. Our slow moving front is weakening, but Gulf moisture and tropical energy is keeping it alive for a rainy and thundery day across eastern Louisiana, lower Mississippi, and southwest Alabama.
Once again our eyes turn to Florida as the return flow from high pressure, combined with some weak tropical energy, help give the east coast and interior parts of north Florida some scattered heavy showers and thunderstorms. We expect that action to increase over the nighttime hours and into tomorrow.
