Five major construction and improvement projects now taking shape in Montgomery

Throughout 2024, the city of Montgomery has made headway on several major projects and announced some significant developments integral to economic development that will be in the works soon.

Ranging from refurbished community centers to a new data center that is currently underway, a city spokesman said all “aim to improve quality of life for residents, enhance community engagement, and promote economic growth” in Montgomery.

Here’s where a few significant projects stand currently in the stages of development.

Community center construction and revitalization

Over the year, the city has funneled millions of dollars into revitalizing some of Montgomery’s existing community centers and constructing a new one.

Calmar Drive

  • Cost: $2.5 million.
  • The community center is a new project.
  • The project is about 30% complete.

Sheridan Heights

  • Cost: $2.9 million.
  • Renovation is about 60% complete as the year wraps up, with the city currently awaiting finalization of the Certificate of Occupancy for the gaming room.
