Montgomery man convicted of murder, assault for separate 2020 shootings

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – A man has been found guilty of two counts of second degree assault and one count of murder for separate 2020 shootings that left one man dead and two others injured, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.

Officials say evidence at trial showed that Lorenzo Rainer, 65, shot Shane Hill and Kevin Sides on two separate days in January 2020 over a dispute about car parts.

Rainer was living in a camper on land that he did not own and “became irate” when the victims came on to the property. The DA’s office says he shot Hill and Sides with a pistol. Both of them survived and identified Rainer as the shooter…
