Weekend Outlook – Friday through Sunday
Timing
The National Weather Service in Birmingham provides a general overview of the timing from Friday at 9 p.m. through Sunday at 7 a.m.
The timing will be much clearer as we get closer to the actual threat. For now, I encourage you to stay informed. Information will be updated as the weather system develops.
Threats
James Spann, ABC 33/40 and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist, said, “All modes of severe weather will be possible with the heavier storms, including large hail, damaging winds, and a few tornadoes. A strong tornado will be possible (EF-2 or higher by definition).”
Friday – Saturday Morning Risk Areas
The Storm Prediction Center has the entire Townsquare Media Coverage area under a 2 out of 5 risk level for severe weather.
Saturday – Sunday Moring Risk Areas
There is a 3 out of 5 risk for severe weather for much of the Yellowhammer State, including the Townsquare Media Coverage Area.
How to Prepare
I strongly encourage each Alabamian to know what county and section of the county they live in. Also, be aware of the counties surrounding you so you can have an idea of what could be headed your way…
