21-year-old indicted in Birmingham shooting that killed 4 men

A Jefferson County grand jury has indicted a 21-year-old man who was the driver in a Birmingham drive-by shooting that killed four longtime friends.

Lamarion Tykese Charlie, of Birmingham, is charged in the Feb. 16, 2024, shooting deaths of Talton “TJ” Tait, 36, Cortez Ray, 32, Terrell Edwards, 38, and Kevin McGhee, 38.

The grand jury indicted Charlie on capital murder of two or more people and capital murder in the presence of a child under the age of 14. Court records made public Wednesday said the young child of at least one of the victims was there during the deadly shooting…
