As much of Alabama prepares for potential severe weather, James Spann is doing all he can making sure residents are informed and safe. Part of that duty seems to be addressing other meteorologist who chime in online with “irresponsible” comments.
Saturday afternoon, Bryan Hughes of WOWK-TV which serves the Charleston–Huntington area made a post on Facebook mentioning the possibility of dying from a tornado.
“WILL YOU DIE TODAY?”
Above are the first words of the post Hughes made on Facebook which featured a graphic mentioning chances of a tornado death within a certain distance.
The post went on to say, “There’s a 6% chance you or someone you know will die from a tornado today. If you’re in that zone in Alabama or Georgia…you should be prepared! Seriously, there’s a map for almost anything these days.”…
