MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – From bounce houses to face painting, the City of Montgomery’s Community and Family Fun Day provided a welcoming start to a weekend filled with events honoring the 60th anniversary of the Selma to Montgomery march.
While the event was centered around fun activates for kids, it also served as an educational experience. Several booths informed the youth on foot soldiers and the issue of voting rights.
“If you don’t know your history, you’re bound to repeat it,” said Rosetta Moncrief, who was in high school during the original march. “It’s good that your stories are told and that they’re told accurately.”…
