Montgomery man sentenced for murder, assault in separate 2020 shootings

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – A man convicted of second degree assault and murder for separate 2020 shootings will spend the rest of his life in prison, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.

Lorenzo Rainer, 65, was sentenced Monday to life without parole for fatally shooting a man and two life sentences for shooting two other men. The DA’s office says his sentences will run consecutively.

Rainer was found guilty in March of murder and two counts of second degree assault for the shooting death of Dana Riley and for shooting and injuring Shane Hill and Kevin Sides.
