Inmate accused of starting fire inside Tutwiler Prison

WETUMPKA, Ala. (WSFA) – A fire at an Alabama women’s prison is under investigation, according to the state department of corrections.

A spokeswoman for the Alabama Department of Corrections said the fire was reported Tuesday at Tutwiler Correctional Facility after an officer noticed smoke coming from a cell area during rounds.
