ALDOT awards $7.6 million in funding for Rebuild Alabama project

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – As part of an ongoing initiative to enhance Alabama’s infrastructure, the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is investing more than $7.6 million for road and bridge construction projects across the state.

The grants are the first round of funding made available this year for the Rebuild Alabama Act, which Governor Ivey signed into law in 2019.

The law requires ALDOT to create a annual program to set aside a minimum at $10 million from the state’s share of gas tax revenue for local projects…
