Friday was dry and fairly sunny across much of our area. However, heavy rain and storms moved across the northwest part of our area Friday afternoon and evening. A severe thunderstorm watch was in effect until 9PM for those areas. Another line of sub-severe storms was taking shape across south Mississippi late Friday evening. That line likely works into west Alabama after midnight, and continues east across our area into Saturday morning.
Heavy rain, lightning, and perhaps strong wind gusts accompany these storms. However, the severe risk looks low overnight. Some of those showers and storms linger into Saturday morning.
