Flood watch issued for Alabama until Monday evening due to intense rainfall

On Sunday at 12:45 a.m. a flood watch was released by the National Weather Service valid from 7 a.m. until Monday 7 p.m. for Marion, Lamar, Fayette, Winston, Walker, Pickens, Tuscaloosa, Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair, Talladega, Clay, Sumter, Greene, Hale, Perry, Bibb, Chilton, Coosa, Tallapoosa, Chambers, Marengo, Dallas, Autauga, Lowndes, Elmore, Montgomery, Macon, Bullock, Lee, Russell, Pike and Barbour counties.

The weather service states, “Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible over areas that are already saturated.”…
