Tornado and Severe Thunderstorm Warnings Issued for the Tennessee Valley

A Tornado Warning and a Severe Thunderstorm Warning are now in effect for portions of the Tennessee Valley, including parts of North Alabama and Southern Middle Tennessee.

At 3:41 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Fayetteville, moving east at 45 mph. This storm has prompted a Tornado Warning for Moore, central Lincoln, and northern Franklin counties in Tennessee, valid until 4:30 PM CDT. Locations at risk include Lynchburg, Estill Springs, Winchester, Decherd, and surrounding communities. Residents in the warning area should take cover immediately in a small, interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy structure.

Simultaneously, a Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect until 4:45 PM CDT for northwestern Jackson and northeastern Madison counties in Alabama, as well as Moore, Lincoln, and Franklin counties in Tennessee. This warning is for a separate storm also near Fayetteville, capable of producing 70 mph wind gusts and penny-size hail. Significant tree and structural damage is possible…
