First Alert Weather Day: Pop-up thunderstorms to help break the summer heat

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – First Alert Weather Days have been declared through Monday for as we begin a stretch of hot and humid summer weather. A Heat Advisory is in effect across West Alabama until 7 p.m. CDT this evening. When you factor in the high humidity levels, feels-like temperatures could climb as high as 108 degrees. Your best chance of cooling off will be a chance of isolated pop-up storms today and tomorrow. Though not everyone is guaranteed to see rain, storms will be capable of producing heavy downpours, frequent lightning, gusty winds, and small hail. Remember: when thunder roars, go indoors! Otherwise, use any storm around as an excuse to go inside, cool off, and rehydrate!

Next 24 Hours: Sunday morning will start off warm and humid with patchy fog possible once again. Afternoon temperatures will once again climb into the low 90s with the best chance of cooling off from a pop-up thunderstorm. With the muggy air in place, feels-like…..
