Montgomery Church Hosts Black Wall Street Expo in Juneteenth Celebration

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Juneteenth celebrations continued over the weekend as Hutchinson Missionary Baptist Church hosted its Black Wall Street Expo on Sunday afternoon.

The event featured food from vendors across Montgomery, live music, a DJ, bouncy houses for children, and products from local businesses. Organizers said the expo was designed not only to celebrate the Juneteenth holiday, but also to support and spotlight Black-owned businesses.

“Montgomery has a rich history of not only resilience, but also of creativity,” said Pastor Cam Thomas of Hutchinson Missionary Baptist Church. “We want to highlight that in our community, and prayerfully, it will serve as encouragement for those who desire to start that job — so they can see that no matter your experience or stage of life, you can do it.
