MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA ) – A second person has been arrested in connection to a kidnapping and assault investigation in Montgomery, according to court documents.
Jai Paige Mister, 18, is charged with first-degree kidnapping and assault in the first degree. Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office previously arrested 26-year-old Amajay Nelson-Cox on the same charges.
According to MCSO, deputies were called to the 1200 block of West South Boulevard on Monday, June 16. At the scene, authorities found a woman suffering from serious injuries and she was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Court documents allege Cox lit the woman on fire after pouring an accelerant onto her body. Mister is accused in the documents of demanding the victim or the victim’s mother to pay Cox money, then physically assaulting her…
