Experts speak on police body camera laws in Alabama

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Under House Bill 289 body worn cameras or dashboard cameras used by law enforcement is eligible to be seen but only by a parent, court appointed guardian, spouse or attorney of the person or persons within the footage.

“We needed to have something in place for family members, for representatives for those individuals,” said Alabama House Representative Juandalynn Givan.
