The city of Montgomery has now demolished the once-grand Governor’s House Hotel & Convention Center, with work finishing at the end of June.
The surrounding community had long pushed for the city to demolish the hotel as it had become a location frequented by unhoused people, said Robert Morgan, the chief property maintenance manager for the city.
