Fugitive from Alabama, local woman arrested by Asheville police

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Asheville police arrested two individuals with active warrants Thursday night during a crime prevention operation prompted by community complaints about illegal drug activity.

Officers encountered Travontae Donquez Ware, 28, around 9:42 p.m. near the 100 block of Atkinson Street. Ware was wanted out of Alabama on a Governor’s Warrant for sexual assault on a minor and also had outstanding local warrants for failure to appear in Buncombe County Court on multiple charges, including felony drug possession and resisting a public officer.

Ware was taken into custody and booked at the Buncombe County Detention Facility. He is being held without bond because of the Governor’s Warrant…
