SEQUOYAH COUNTY, Okla. — Stacy Lee Drake, a man arrested in Arkansas last year who’s connected to at least four deaths across the country, pleaded not guilty to three counts of first-degree murder.
Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty, according to court records. Drake has also been linked to a fourth killing in Alabama.
District Attorney Jack Thorp officially requested the court to impose the death penalty against Drake on May 21, 2025, over two weeks after Drake appeared in court for a preliminary hearing and the judge determined there was enough evidence to hold a trial.
Background
In June 2024, Drake eluded police during a multi-day manhunt that crossed state lines before being arrested in Morrilton, Arkansas. Drake was initially charged with a double homicide in Sequoyah County for the deaths of Tara Underwood and Taylor Sharp.
