Strong to Severe Storms Plus Rising Heat Levels in Alabama

In a classic summer weather pattern, there is the potential for strong to severe thunderstorms across portions of Alabama during the afternoon and evening timeframe.

James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist said, “The chance of any one spot seeing rain each day is in the 20-25 percent range.”

Risk Areas and Levels

The Storm Prediction Center has placed some West Alabama counties under a Marginal Risk (Level 1 out of 5) for severe storms today.

  • Northern Section of Pickens and Tuscaloosa Counties
  • Entire Counties of Fayette, Lamar, and Walker
