BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – We had a few showers earlier this morning in east Alabama, but the rain has ended with most of us remaining dry.
We remain mostly dry shortly before noon with a partly cloudy sky. Temperatures are warming up quickly into the mid to upper 80s. We have a chance to see storms develop this afternoon and evening.
Not everyone will see rainfall today as rain chances remain at 30 to 40%. The Weather Prediction Center is highlighting a marginal (or low) chance to see heavy rainfall and flooding for parts of northeast Alabama today. Storms will be capable of producing heavy rain that could result in localized flooding. I think the greatest chance to see rain today will remain east of Interstate-65 and north of Interstate-20.
If you plan to be outside, you’ll want to grab a water bottle, sunscreen, hat, and don’t forget the sunglasses! We are looking at a partly cloudy sky with highs in the lower 90s. When you factor in the humidity, it could feel like it is between 98°F to 103°F…
