Alabama Launches No-Fee, No-Essay College Admissions

(WDNews) — Starting this fall, Alabama high school seniors can receive college admissions offers without filling out traditional applications, writing essays, or paying application fees.

Governor Kay Ivey announced the launch of “Alabama Goes to College: Direct Admissions” on Thursday. The statewide initiative is designed to simplify the admissions process and remove common barriers for students and their families. Instead of applying to colleges individually, students will create a single online profile through the platform Match. Once their transcripts are uploaded, that profile will be reviewed by 39 participating two- and four-year colleges across the state.
