MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – We ended the month of July on a very hot note. Temperatures above average with lots of heat and humidity. As we head into the second day of the new month things will be changing. A higher chance for scattered showers and storms are upon us, making for a fairly wet weekend. But good news, the wet conditions will help temperatures drop down a few degrees making for some noticeably cooler weather.
This afternoon temperatures will warm into the lower 90s for your afternoon highs, however, not a lot of people will experience these temperatures as scattered storms will take place all over Central and South Alabama. Some storms could even be strong with strong winds and heavy rain. Humidity will still remain at a high, causing feel like temperatures to be even high.
Some of the storms to impact us this afternoon into the evening will be strong. Containing strong winds and heavy rain fall. Some areas specifically in the easter portion of state can even deal will some flooding from the impact of the downpours…
