Human remains discovered in Alabama last June have been positively identified as belonging to a man from Texas who went missing in 2022, authorities said.

The Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office previously announced that officials responded to a report of possible human remains in a wooded area off Interstate 20 near the 194-mile marker on June 22. Deputies arrived at the scene and confirmed the discovery. At the time, the sheriff’s office said that no foul play was suspected.

Then, on Wednesday, Aug. 6, more than a month after the discovery, the sheriff’s office said in an update that authorities believe the identity of the remains was Peter Alexander Robinson, of Austin, Texas, as they were processing the scene. They learned that Robinson was listed as missing around December 2022, and the vehicle he was traveling in was towed from the same area on Interstate 20  in January 2023…
