Alabama schools enforce new cell phone ban, sparking changes in classrooms

GADSDEN, Ala. — As the new school year begins, Alabama’s statewide cell phone ban is being enforced in classrooms, and educators are observing its impact. At Gadsden High School, Principal Joel Gulledge reported that only a handful of students have been caught with cell phones since the policy took effect.

“It’s going to be some growing pains,” said Gulledge. “I mean, we the administrators here know there’s going to be some growing pains associated with the administering of the policy and everything like that. Still too early to tell right now.”…
